Does Candia Milk contain any additives ?

No, Candia Milk contains no additives or preservatives of any kind, just all the natural goodness of fresh milk.

So how is Candia Milk given its long life ?

Candia Milk is sterilised by heating it to 140 C for a few seconds, followed by rapid cooling. This removes all the undesirable bacteria. Candia Milk will then keep much longer without having removed any of its goodness.

Is Candia Milk as good for us as fresh milk ?

Certainly. Candia Milk has the same nutritional and mineral content as fresh milk.

What does Candia Milk taste like ?

People who try Candia Milk are surprised how like short life milk it tastes. Many even say they prefer the creamier taste of Candia Skimmed Milk to the taste of fresh skimmed milk. Tasting is believing though.

Does Candia Milk have to be kept in the fridge ?

No, Unopened, Candia Milk can be safely stored at room temperature for up to 5 months. (see the label for the 'best before' date). Once open, Candia Milk must be kept in the fridge. Here, it will last for up to three days, the same as ordinary fresh milk.

Why is Candia Milk in a plastic bottle ?

The Candia bottle is made from special, triple-layered plastic. This helps to protect the Milk from light and helps to preserve all the Milk's natural nutritional qualities and good taste. The bottles come with colour-coded screw-caps (red for skimmed, green for semi-skimmed) which make opening, closing and pouring practical and easy.

Is the plastic bottle recyclable ?

Yes. It is made from 100% recyclable plastic.

Can I freeze Candia Milk ?

As Candia Milk can be stored at room temperature, freezing of Candia Milk is not necessary.
